Before Sunset

Nine years later, Jesse travels across Europe giving readings from a book he wrote about the night he spent in Vienna with Celine. After his reading in Paris, Celine finds him, and they spend part of the day together before Jesse has to again leave for a flight. They are both in relationships now, and Jesse has a son, but as their strong feelings for each other start to return, both confess a longing for more.

Houston at mid-century was a place where anything seemed possible, from an air-conditioned domed stadium to a monument to the orange to a trip to the moon. Organized in collaboration with Archivists of the Houston Area (AHA!), the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art presents a local history fair spotlighting oddball ephemera from collections both public and private.

Metropolis with Live Score and Short Film Showcase

Friends of River Oaks Theatre will host a special screening consisting of new short films made by inspired artists, followed by Fritz Lang’s groundbreaking science fiction epic, Metropolis, accompanied by an original live score by Omar Vincent Al-Bochi (aka: Vincent Priceless). This event is a colaboration with Buffalo Bayou Partnership and will be held at the Water Works at Buffalo Bayou Park.

John Waters TRASH-A-THON

Three CELLULOID ATROCITIES by the Pope of Trash! Ticket includes entry to all three films. Must be 18+ to attend. Friends of River Oaks Theatre presents a depraved triple-feature of iconic John Waters films, representing three decades of his career: Serial Mom, Polyester and Pink Flamingos. The event will be at #Numbers and hosted by drag artist Sauvignon Blanca, who will be performing and leading interactive activities between films.
